Ready, Resourced, Resilient: Tools Every Therapist Needs

2 CE Hours

https://courses.engagedmindsce.com/courses/ready-resourced-resilient-tools-every-therapist-needs

About this course

This practical workshop equips therapists with a powerful resourcing toolkit that supports both general clinical work and/or Phase 2 of EMDR. Participants will explore evidence-informed strategies to help clients build stabilization, emotional regulation, and inner strength — whether preparing for trauma processing or enhancing resilience in everyday practice. Walk away with adaptable tools you can use across modalities to ensure clients feel safe, grounded, and ready for deeper therapeutic work.

Let's make Phase 2 of EMDR accessible for everyone.

Open to all mental health professionals and students — no prior EMDR training required.

PowerPoint and training handout included.

Please note: participants will be watching a recorded video.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe and classify characteristics of hypo arousal, hyper arousal, and the window of tolerance.
  • Define the concept of a "resource" and its role in trauma-informed care.
  • Practice and apply at least five resourcing and state-shifting exercises to support nervous system regulation.
  • Identify special considerations when working with trauma survivors, including pacing, safety, and readiness for regulation-based interventions.

The Dissociation Adaptation: From Theory to Clinical Application

2 CE Hours

https://courses.engagedmindsce.com/courses/the-dissociation-adaptation-from-theory-to-clinical-application

About this course

Navigating the complexities of dissociation is a critical skill for any trauma-informed practitioner. This workshop reframes dissociation not as a pathology, but as a creative and adaptive survival mechanism—one that disrupts the normal integration of consciousness, identity, and memory in response to overwhelming stress. Participants will explore the neurobiological foundations of dissociation, including the roles of the dorsal vagal system, hippocampus, and thalamus, and learn to recognize the spectrum of dissociative presentations such as depersonalization, fragmentation, and emotional numbing.

Through a blend of theory, case examples, and experiential practice, this training provides a practical framework for assessing dissociative states and applying evidence-informed interventions. Attendees will leave with an expanded toolkit—including somatic regulation techniques, mindfulness-based grounding skills, and advanced parts work applications—to help clients safely move from dissociation toward reconnection and integration.

Slide Deck Included

Bonus: Assessment tools and Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation Skills Training E-Book provided as clinical resources

Please note: participants will be watching a recorded video.

Learning Objectives

  • Define and identify at least five characteristics and clinical indicators of dissociation across the trauma spectrum.
  • Explain the neurobiological processes underlying dissociation, including the involvement of the dorsal vagal complex, hippocampus, and thalamus.
  • Apply at least three regulation and grounding interventions matched to different types of dissociative states (e.g., depersonalization, emotional numbing, fragmentation) to promote greater integration and safety in clinical practice.
